CAPA 8 Podcast es una idea que nació en conjunto con un amigo muy querido, llamado David. Básicamente, nos gusta hablar mucho de cualquier cosa que se te pueda ocurrir, desde lo más serio hasta lo más "sin sentido". Un día, en medio de una de estas tantas conversaciones, pensamos "deberíamos grabar estas conversaciones, seguramente la gente se reiría de nuestras tonterías".
Simple. ¿No es así como nacen todos los buenos podcast?
Una conversación entre amigos con una cámara en medio.

Capa 8 Podcast is an idea that was born in conjunction with a very dear friend, named David. Basically, we like to talk a lot about anything you can think of, from the most serious to the most "nonsense" topic. One day, in the middle of one of these many conversations, we thought "we should record these conversations, surely people would laugh at our nonsense".
Simple. Isn't like that how all good podcasts are born?

Why "CAPA 8"?
Ambos trabajamos cercanos al mundo de la programación (sin ser programadores), por lo que aquel día que estuvimos un buen rato discutiendo posibles nombres para el proyecto, surgió un "¿y... CAPA 8?".
David se me quedó mirando con una mirada que decía "me llama la atención pero ¿por qué CAPA 8?" a lo que yo le respondí que, en el mundo de la programación, existen en principio 7 diferentes tipos de errores, que son identificados como "capas" (les dejo una imágen de referencia más abajo).
La "8va capa" o "error Capa 8" hace referencia a un error ajeno al código, ocasionado por el mal uso del usuario, valga la redundancia. Dicho esto, nos decantamos por este nombre para recordar a los espectadores que esto es una conversación entre dos amigos, jóvenes "promedio" que pueden cometer errores o decir alguna barbaridad desde la ignorancia y el desconocomiento.
CAPA 8 Podcast, es una conversación EN TIEMPO REAL, que invita al espectador a "arriesgarse" al decir lo que piensa sin limitaciones, sin pensar si es correcto o no, si es real o no o incluso si tiene sentido o no (pero siempre con respeto, claro).
Esa es la escencia de CAPA 8 Podcast.

We both work close to the programming world (without being programmers), so that day when we spent a long time discussing possible names for the project, a "what about... CAPA 8?."
David stared at me with a look that said "it catches my attention but, why CAPA 8?" to which I replied that, in the programming world, there are in principle 7 different types of errors, which are identified as "layers" (I leave a reference image below).
The "8th layer" or "Layer 8 error" refers to an error outside the code, caused by the user's misuse, for the sake of redundancy. That said, we chose this name to remind viewers that this is a conversation between two friends, "average" young people who can make mistakes or say something outrageous out of ignorance and lack of knowledge.
CAPA 8 Podcast, is a REAL TIME conversation, which invites the viewer to "take a chance" by saying what he thinks without limitations, without thinking if it's correct or not, if it's real or not or even if it makes sense or not (but always with respect, of course).
That's the scent of CAPA 8 Podcast.
La fuente usada es Bebas Neue Regular, una sans serif muy simple, de uso libre, que representa la simpleza y sinceridad de la conversación, encerrada dentro de un rectángulo con degradado que va desde un tono azulado a un color salmón, que representa principalemente dos cosas: el tema que encierra la conversación, dejando espacios abiertos para divagar un poco, de forma orgánica, pero apegándose a un espacio delimitado; y la ventana que sirve de fondo para cada episodio, que se ha vuelto parte de la identidad visual del podcast y cautiva más de una mirada con los atardeceres repletos de colores vivos que nos brinda la ciudad de Santiago (Chile), de allí sus colores.
La inclinación del rectángulo y la tipografía representan el dinamismo de la conversación y la perspectiva que puede tomar la misma según cada persona, argumento o comentario.

The font used is Bebas Neue Regular, a very simple sans serif, of free use, that represents the simplicity and sincerity of the conversation, enclosed within a rectangle with gradient that goes from a bluish tone to a salmon color, which mainly represents two things: the topic that encloses the conversation, leaving open spaces to digress a little, organically, but sticking to a delimited space; and the window that serves as a background for each episode, which has become part of the visual identity of the podcast and captivates more than one look with the sunsets full of bright colors that gives us the city of Santiago (Chile), therefrom its colors.
The inclination of the rectangle and the typography represent the dynamism of the conversation and the perspective it can take according to each person, argument or comment.
